1st Day:

Casablanca, originally a modest trading post, evolved under French influence into one of Africa’s largest cities, embodying a blend of western modernity and eastern tradition. Explore this dynamic city during a private afternoon tour, including a visit to the renowned King Hassan II Mosque, distinguished for its technological innovation and exquisite craftsmanship. 2nd Day:

From Casablanca via Rabat to Fez

Witness the city’s rich history, shaped by waves of skilled Muslim and Jewish immigrants and wise sultans who expanded trade and built renowned madrasas. Your private tour encompasses both Old Fez and New Fez, with highlights including the Bou Inania Medersa, Dar Batha ethnographic museum, and Nejjarine Square. In New Fez, built by the Merinid Dynasty, marvel at the Royal Palace, mosques, souks, and the historic Jewish quarter known as the Mellah. 4th Day:

From Volubilis via Meknes to Fes

 

After having your  breakfast, a private transfer awaits to escort you to Meknes, an imperial city steeped in history. Explore the opulent palace, granaries, and stables of Moulay Ismail, a formidable ruler known for his military prowess and strategic alliances. Admire the city’s extensive walls, spanning 16 miles and punctuated by ceremonial gates, including the majestic Bab Mansour. Delve into the ruler’s lavish mausoleum and discover the architectural legacy of Meknes. After a satisfying lunch at Relais de Meknes, continue your journey to Volubilis, home to the largest Roman ruins in Morocco. Marvel at the well-preserved remains, including a Roman olive factory and intricate mosaic floors, offering a glimpse into ancient Roman life. Conclude the day with free time in Fez, allowing you to unwind and explore at your leisure.

 

5th Day:

Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Erfoud (Sahara Desert)

 

 

Our journey continues to the desert. We will take you through the popular mountain retreat (and seasonal ski resort) of Ifrane, across the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountain ranges, and through the incredible Ziz Valley. By virtue of its continuous valley, the Ziz valley is a veritable river of lush vegetation (an estimated 2 million date palm trees) that cuts through; an otherwise dry region of desert canyons and tepui-like plateaus. The valley is dotted with a string of kasbahs (fortresses) built to protect families in what remained a lawless land until the 1930s.
Upon arrival in Erfoud, you might relax and/or swim in the pool. You will enjoy the starry nighttime desert and sky. Camel trek for a sunset through the dunes this evening for about 1 hour to reach the camp Berber tents where you will spend the night (dinner and Berber folklore music).

 

6th Day:

Exploring Merzouga and Camel Trek

 

 

Your breakfast is a sine qua nothing for us. You begin to discover the area before your camel trek and overnight at the desert camp. During this day you visit the Gnawa, originally slaves brought from Sudan.  You will discover their music and lifestyle. Not far away, there is a lake of Merzouga, with its bird. You can also visit the home of nomadic thread where many Berber handicrafts are cheaper than in the big cities.
The afternoon is involved in your camel trek. Guided by an experienced camel guide, you can explore the sea of golden sand of Merzouga and have dinner in front of the tent where you spend the night.

 

7th Day:

From Merzouga via Todra Valley, Dades Valley to Ouarzazate

In the early morning, you’ll be transported by a four-by-four vehicle to the dunes, where a camel trek awaits. Guided by a Berber expert, your camel journey through the dunes will be filled with gentle inducements to ensure a smooth ride. Pause atop wind-sculpted dunes to admire the serene landscape as the sun rises. Following the camel trek, venture to a Gnawa village before continuing on to Ouarzazate, a strategic city linking Morocco to Europe. En route, visit a private museum showcasing local art and culture. Explore the breathtaking Todra Valley and Gorge, flanked by Berber villages and lush palmeraies. Indulge in a delicious lunch before traversing the scenic Dades Valley, renowned for its roses, on your way to Ouarzazate.

8th Day:

Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech

 

After enjoying breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Ouarzazate, a historic trading hub nestled among the Atlas, Draa, Dades, and Todgha valleys. Established by the French in the 1920s as a strategic outpost, Ouarzazate has since evolved into a prominent center of global filmmaking. Explore the Taourirt Kasbah, once home to the influential Glaoui brothers, then journey to Ait Benhaddou, renowned for its cinematic history and well-preserved Kasbah. Marvel at the Atlas Film Studios and traverse the Tichn’Tichka mountain pass, before arriving in the enchanting city of Marrakech. Discover the vibrant Jardin Majorelle, once owned by Jacques Majorelle and later enhanced by Yves Saint Laurent, offering a captivating blend of botanical wonders and Islamic art.

 

9th Day:

Let us explore Marrakech!

Begin your Marrakech tour with a visit to the stunning Ben Youssef Medersa, a 14th-century Quranic school adorned with exquisite zellij patterns and cedar carvings. Afterward, stroll through the old medina and its maze of colorful souks, leading to Djemaa el Fna, Marrakech’s bustling main square where street performers entertain crowds daily. Adjacent to the square stands the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, known for its impressive minaret. Explore Maison Tiskiwin, housing a fascinating collection curated by Dutch anthropologist Bert Flint, offering insights into Moroccan culture and craftsmanship.

 

10th Day:

The high Atlas Mountains

On this day you enjoy a full-day private excursion to the Atlas Mountains, North Africa’s greatest mountain range. You stop at the picturesque village of Asni before continuing to the Berber village of Imlil. It is where you’ll enjoy a short hike or mule ride to Kasbah Toubkal. From which you’ll enjoy wonderful views of Toubkal Mountain, the highest peak in North Africa. You’ll then proceed to the Ourika Valley for scenic hiking and tea with a rural Berber family. Finally, we return to Marrakech.

 

11th Day :

DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA

 

 

In the morning, following breakfast, we’ll pick you up and journey to Essaouira, a picturesque port city renowned for its warm hospitality, vibrant art scene, and relaxed atmosphere. With a history shaped by diverse cultures including Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Portuguese, Essaouira boasts a unique character influenced by its eclectic mix of inhabitants. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the port, souks, and French-designed medina, wandering through narrow streets adorned with artisan workshops and colorful shops. Explore the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter, and visit the 16th-century fortress built by the Portuguese. Later, witness the bustling activity of the working port, admire the brightly painted fishing trawlers, and marvel at the îles Purpuraires, known for their historical significance in producing prized purple dye. Indulge in delicious seafood or tagine dishes before leisurely strolling along the beautiful beachfront. As the day draws to a close, we’ll depart Essaouira and return to Marrakech.
 

12th Day:

Homeward
